Event Edible Logo Installation and Video
I was asked to create an edible logo for the 2012 TEDx Manhattan "Changing the Way We Eat" which explored the issues, the impacts and the innovations happening as we shift to a more sustainable way of eating and farming. The goal of the event was to create new synergies, connections and collaborating across the disciplines to help break the food movement of of its 'bubble', and to introduce the TED community to the innovative work being done in this field. The audience included academics, researchers, health professionals, farmers, chefs, food professionals, nonprofits, advocates, foundations, public figures and TEDster.
I created 3 foot tall custom made metal TEDx SIPs planters seeded with 3 varieties of red lettuce. I wanted the audience to come away with a deeper understanding of the significance of these planters, so I created a video which showcases the advantages of sub-irrigation and nutrient density.
